United Against Racism

What is United Against Racism?

United Against Racism is part of a signature YWCA USA campaign that takes place every April. United Against Racism aims to raise awareness about the impact of institutional racism and empower participants to take action. For over a decade, YW Boston has hosted our customized campaign, and since 2020, it has been fully virtual. Last year, over 6,800 people participated in our campaign

Who participates in United Against Racism?

Anyone can be United Against Racism with YW Boston! Individuals, friend groups, families, student associations, colleagues, and organizations are all welcome to sign up. Organizations, in particular, can benefit from participation by gaining access to racial equity content that can support organizational learning, encourage employee engagement, and complement existing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) work.

How to participate in United Against Racism

United Against Racism participants will get access to an exclusive, self-paced online curriculum of racial equity content developed by YW Boston to educate, contextualize, and empower organizations and individuals looking to better understand and address racism in Boston. Our United Against Racism curriculum includes a variety of media such as articles, videos, discussion prompts, and worksheets.

Participants will receive a United Against Racism Toolkit to help organizations, groups, and individual participants practice self-reflection, engage in their own conversations, and plan to take action in support of racial equity.

When does United Against Racism take place?

YW Boston’s United Against Racism campaign spans the month of April. Participants will gain immediate access to our United Against Racism curriculum once the campaign begins on April 1st.

Upon completion of our United Against Racism curriculum, participants will receive a digital badge to showcase their participation.
